BBQ in our back yard

This Saturday, we invited some friends over to our house for a casual BBQ. Chrissy, Mike, Ben and Nathen, as well as Scott and Jack came in from one of Chicago suburbs, Naperville. Since we live in the city, we don't see them as often as we'd like to. So we try to make time to get together with them as much as we can.

Megan and Kevin just had their son, Jax, also joined us before they headed to the Cubs-Sox game last night. They are in the process of selling their condo in the city and moving to the suburbs. Tony and Michele are also our good friends whom we'd like to see more often. They have a beautiful 3.5-year-old daughter, Shea, and the cutest 16-month-old twin boys, Blake and Britton. Britton was hanging out with me. Since he just started walking, he wanted to go upstairs and downstairs, in and out of the house, so I was following him around to make sure he was okay. For a moment, I felt like he was my own! But it really is hard to be a parent. I'm amazed at how Tony and Michele are such great parents to their 3 young children while joggling work and school!

Fun Girls' Trip

For Jessica's Bachelorette party, we spent a weekend at our friend's lake house in Michigan. We arrived on Friday and visited 3 wineries for wine tasting before dinner at a local Italian restaurant, Tosi. During the day on Saturday, we hung out at the beach in St. Joe's and shopped around town. Saturday night was Bachelorette fun and fajitas/margaritas night. I love girls trips, and we had such a fun time. I'm blessed to have a fun group of friends here in Chicago!

Arlington 2010

It is our second Arlington Race Track event. Since we had so much fun last year, we extended the invitation to more friends this year. It was a Saturday in early June, and the day started out raining like cats and dogs. As the day went on, the sun came out and it turned out to be a beautiful day!

Just like last year, we reserved a room with food and drinks. We girls also ordered champagne. Many betting and goofing around!
